The due date for Property Taxes is the first business day of July.
By Phone or Internet
You can pay your taxes by telephone banking or through online banking with your financial institution. For online banking, add the City of Fernie as a payee and use your roll # as the account number.
Please allow a minimum of 5 days for the City to receive your payment from your financial institution. Receipt of your electronic payment will be recorded at the date and time the funds arrive at the City's financial institution and not when the payment is transmitted by your financial institution. If your payment isn't received in the City's account by the due date it will be considered late and will be subject to a 10% penalty.
Cheques can be mailed to the City of Fernie, PO Box 190, Fernie, BC, V0B 1M0. Mailed payments must be received by the due date to avoid a 10% penalty. Postmarks will not be considered as date of payment. Cheques postdated to the due date will be accepted.
At your Financial Institution
You can pay your property taxes online and in person at most major financial institutions.
In Person at City Hall
As part of our COVID-19 safety procedures, only two members of the public are permitted inside City Hall at one time. Please expect delays if you are trying to pay your taxes in-person.
Cash, cheque and Interact payments can be made in person at City Hall Monday to Friday during regular office hours excluding statutory holidays. After hours cheques can be dropped in the mail slot in the front door of City Hall. Cheques received prior to the due date and postdated to the due date will be accepted.
If you have any questions regarding payments please contact the Financial Services Department at (250) 423-6817 or email email@example.com.
