Building Permits
Building Officials review permit applications to ensure they comply with the most recent BC Building Code, the Building and Plumbing Bylaw, and other related legislation. After your application has been reviewed, you will be contacted with any comments or questions.
Before Building Officials assess applications for new construction or alterations that change the height or footprint of a structure, the Planning team also evaluates them for compliance with the Zoning Bylaw.
The types of permit applications in the queue include:
- Building permit applications,
- Plumbing permit applications,
- Demolition permit applications,
- Solid fuel burning appliance (wood stove) permit applications.

Statistics are updated weekly. Please note that the table above serves only as an indication of permit processing times. Timelines may vary due to several factors, including, but not limited to:
- The complexity and completeness of other applications in the queue,
- The volumes of inspection requests for permitted work,
- The time it takes to respond to inquiries,
- The volume of work relating to stop work orders and do not occupy notices,
- The volume of work relating to business license referrals, liquor license referrals, and change of occupancy requests.
