Management of Municipal Wastewater Sludge

The Corporation of the City of Fernie (the City) is seeking proposals from qualified proponents in accordance with the procurement and contracting requirements described within this RFP, for the Removal and Disposal of Municipal Wastewater Sludge at the City’s WWTF.

The City of Fernie aims to restore the treatment capacity of Aeration Basins 1 & 2 by desludging these basins and managing the desludged material by utilizing geotubes. To re-use the existing geotube laydown area, the existing sludge stored within geotubes must be beneficially re-used by applying it to land. The exiting geotubes will also need to be disposed off site appropriately. All work must be performed in strict accordance with the applicable Federal, Provincial and Local laws, regulations, codes of practice and guidelines.

The City believes that selection of a qualified proponent is critical to the success or failure of a project and interested parties are advised the intent of this Request for Proposal is to select the successful proponent based on criteria deemed most advantageous to the City.

• RFP Closing Time: 2:00 PM local time 

Proposals marked “Management of Municipal Wastewater Sludge” will be received via email at cityhall@fernie.ca up to 2:00PM local time.

Proposals received after the Closing Date and Time for receipt of Proposals will be considered as “Late Proposals”. Late proposals will not be accepted and will be returned unopened to the sender, or if delivered via email, the email will not be reviewed or evaluated.

The City of Fernie reserves the right to cancel this Request for Proposal for any reason whatsoever without any liability to the City of Fernie.
