Leisure Pool Closure

The City of Fernie Parks, Recreation, and Facilities team would like to inform patrons that the Leisure Pool will be temporarily closed on Wednesday, August 6, from 8:00am to 12:00pm to facilitate an important maintenance procedure.

During a recent routine inspection, our team identified a leak developing in the Leisure Pool circulation pump. To prevent extended or unexpected closures, resulting from a complete pump failure, our maintenance team will proactively replace the failing pump with a prepared backup unit. The faulty pump will be rebuilt and kept in inventory as a backup to ensure the continued reliability of our facilities.

To complete this work safely, we must isolate the Leisure Pool’s plumbing during the pump replacement. While this requires a short closure, all other amenities will remain open as usual.
