Camping Prohibited at City Parks, Facilities and on Streets
August 13, 2026
Bylaw Services would like to remind the public that camping, including vehicle-based camping, is not permitted at City parks or facilitates or on City streets.
In response to increased camping at Maiden Lake, the City has installed no overnight parking signage in the area.
To avoid potential fines or vehicle impoundment, please remember:
- Observe and follow all posted signage and parking restrictions.
- Recreational trailers must be hitched to your vehicle unless parked on private property.
- Vehicles and trailers must not be parked in the same location for more than 72 hours.
For anyone wishing to camp in the area, there are several campgrounds located within or near the municipality that are equipped with the proper amenities for an overnight stay.
To report parking or camping issues in your neighbourhood, submit a Request for Service.
