Fire Camp on Aquatic Centre Grounds

James White Park Closed for Wapiti Music Festival
August 4, 2022James White Park is the venue for this year's Wapiti Music Festival and will be closed all day Friday, August 5 and Saturday August 6. The park will re-open to the public after the tear-down and clean-up is complete on Sunday, August 7. -
Water Quality Update
August 3, 2022The City of Fernie has completed independent testing and confirmed the increased presence of selenium in the James White Park Wells. While levels are within the provincial standard of less that 10 micrograms per litre, we have implemented ongoing monitoring and created a response plan should they rise above the limit. -
Water Restrictions in Effect
August 3, 2022With the recent stretch of hot, dry weather, we are experiencing higher than normal levels of water demand. The City of Fernie is asking residents to help us conserve water by adhering to watering restrictions until further notice. -
Effective at 1pm MDT on Thursday, August 4, 2022, the City of Fernie is implementing a municipal campfire ban in effect. This ban will mirror the ban prohibiiting campfires throughout the Southeast Fire Centre’s jurisdiction to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety.
