Upcoming Well Drilling for Elkview Groudwater Study
July 30, 2026Several residents on Elkview Crescent have been experiencing challenges with groundwater in their basements for many years. The City of Fernie has engaged a hydrogeological consultant (ISL Engineering) to investigate the groundwater movement in the area to help determine likely causes of groundwater influx into basements and potential mitigation options. -
Log Jams on Elk River Safety Advisory
July 30, 2026Please be aware that there are multiple dangerous log jams near town on the Elk River. Signs are installed warning river users of significant hazards near the Stanford Inn.
