Stage 3 Water Restrictions in Effect May 31

Due to critical infrastructure damage at the Fairy Creek water source following the storm on the evening of May 29th, the City of Fernie is implementing Stage 3 Water Restrictions at noon on Saturday, May 31st.

Please follow water restrictions and help reduce water use.  Without reducing water usage, the reservoir may be depleted, and further damage could occur.

 Stage 3 Water Restrictions include:

  • For residential trees, shrubs, flowers and plants - watering is limited to a maximum of 1 hour per day on permitted days.
  • Permitted days are Thursdays for Even number properties, and Tuesdays for Odd numbered properties.
  • On your permitted day, watering is either in the morning between 6 and 8, OR, in the evening from 8 to 10.
  • These restrictions do not apply to the watering of a vegetable garden or edible plants.
  • Lawn watering is not permitted in Stage 3 Water Restrictions.
