Lifeguard Open House

Becoming a certified lifeguard is a fantastic way to gain new skills and get involved in a role that can really make a difference. As a lifeguard you will develop skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, responsibility.

The main roles of a lifeguard are to prevent accidents and spot potential trouble/hazards before they become life-threatening. They also educate the public about the risks associated with aquatic activities and how to be Water Smart, as well as lead activities and games in the pool.

For anyone who’s interested in exploring this fun and rewarding line of work, the City of Fernie is hosting a Lifeguard Open House Sept. 26^th from 4:00-6:00pm at the Fernie Aquatic Centre.
