The Flood Watch for the Elk Valley remains in place. Fernie is expected to see rain and thunderstorms starting this evening with sustained rainfall over the next few days. River levels are expected to continue to rise with the rainfall and melting snowpack, with the potential to cause flooding conditions. -

Forecasting from Environment Canada and the Province indicates less severe conditions for the Fernie area, with less total rainfall than previously projected. Despite this shift, a significant multi-day storm is still anticipated to begin over the weekend.
