Training Notice - Fernie Memorial Arena

On Tuesday evenings, City of Fernie Firefighters are regularly out in the community as part of their weekly fire practice, training to maintain and improve their emergency response skills.
Tonight, firefighters will be conducting a planned training exercise at the Fernie Memorial Arena. The exercise involves a simulated emergency related to the Arena’s refrigeration system, allowing crews to practice coordinated response, rescue procedures, and the use of specialized equipment.
Residents in the area may notice emergency vehicles, lights and sirens, and firefighters wearing full protective gear. This activity is part of a controlled training scenario only, and there is no real incident or risk to the public.
Training in real-world settings is an important part of ensuring firefighters are prepared to respond effectively in emergency situations.
