The Nomination Period for the 2026 General Local Election is Now Open

The Nomination Period for the 2026 General Local Election is open as of 9:00 a.m. today, September 1, and closes at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11.

Council candidates can submit their nomination papers to the Chief Election Officer at City Hall. Nomination packages are available for pick up at City Hall during regular office hours or can be downloaded online.

It is recommended that candidates book a meeting with the Chief Election Officer to review their nomination package. You can do so by emailing electionsofficer@fernie.ca or calling 250-946-7138.
