Renew Your Backyard Fire Pit Permit

It’s time to renew your Backyard Fire Pit Permit. Backyard Fire Pit Permits allow residents to have a backyard campfire and burn clean, dry, untreated firewood for personal enjoyment. Permits are valid for one year and must be renewed annually. There is fee of $30 for new permits, and permits with changes. There is no cost for renewing your existing permit.
Please note, it is illegal to light, ignite, or start any outside fire within the City of Fernie Municipal Boundary, including public spaces and parks, without a fire permit. Having an unpermitted backyard campfire can result in a fine of up to $1000.
