Notice of Development Variance Permit No. DVP-640

Pursuant to Section 499 of the Local Government Act, public notice is hereby given that Council for the City of Fernie will consider the issuance of Development Variance Permit No. DVP-640 at a Regular Meeting of Council on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Fernie Senior Citizens Drop In Centre located at 562 3rd Avenue, Fernie BC. Council meetings are available for all members of the public to attend or watch electronically via a Zoom webinar link posted to the City of Fernie website prior to each meeting. Purpose: |
The proposed variance will allow the applicant to repair and reconstruct a single-car garage on the subject lot by varying Zoning Bylaw No. 1750 as follows:
i. Vary Section 4.2.1.4: Minimum Side Yard Setback From: 1.5 m To: 0.08 m.
ii. Vary Section 4.2.1.4: Minimum Rear Yard Setback From: 1.5 m To: 0.23 m. |

A copy of the proposed development variance permit and other relevant documents may be viewed on our “Latest News” page on the City website at www.fernie.ca and in person at City Hall, located at 501 3rd Avenue, during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays.

Public participation will be accepted through written submission and must be submitted before 2:00 p.m. on the day of the Council Meeting where the DVP will be considered by any of the following formats

Notice was mailed and hand delivered to all properties within 50 metres of the subject property in accordance with Section 499 of the Local Government Act.
