Investing in Sustainable Water and Wastewater Services

Increases to water and wastewater fees have been approved to support the ongoing operation, maintenance, and long-term replacement of essential utility infrastructure.

For 2026:

  • Water fees increase by 14.5%
  • Wastewater fees increase by 17%

This means that a standard single-family home will see an annual increase of approximately $140 for their water and wastewater fees, compared to last year. These updated fees are part of a long-term plan that sets water and wastewater rates for 2026–2030, helping ensure these services remain reliable now and into the future.

Why the City No Longer Offers a 5% Annual-Payment Utility Discount

In previous years, the City offered a 5% discount to property owners who paid their full annual utility bill before February 28. This program was introduced at a time when interest rates were much higher, and the financial benefit to the City helped offset the reduced revenue.

Today, interest rates are significantly lower, which means the discount no longer provides a financial advantage to the City. In fact, continuing to offer it would cost the City approximately $20,000 each year.

That cost ultimately has to be recovered through utility fees, which means other households end up covering the difference. Ending the discount ensures that everyone contributes fairly and that utility revenues go directly toward operating, maintaining, and replacing essential water and wastewater infrastructure.

By phasing out the program, the City is helping keep utility rates as fair and consistent as possible for all households.
