Council to Council Meeting with Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi’it

On Wednesday, May 20, members of City Council and staff attended a Council to Council meeting at Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi’it. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi’it for graciously hosting us and for their warm welcome.
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to connect and share updates since our last Council to Council meeting in September of 2024.
An important area of discussion focused on ongoing wastewater challenges and steps to remediation. Following the meeting, attendees visited the Elk River, highlighting our shared responsibility and care for this essential resource that runs through our communities.
Looking ahead, we are committed to continuing our relationship with Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi’it by identifying opportunities for collaboration, including joint initiatives, funding opportunities, and partnerships on regional and provincial priorities.
