City Raises Flag for Month of La Francophonie

The Franco-Columbian was raised at City Hall in recognition of Francophonie Month and in support of British Columbia’s vibrant Francophone community.
Mayor Milligan and members of Council were joined by Principal Marie Ève Cantin and students from École Sophie Morigeau under the Francophone flag to celebrate the diversity, vitality, and ongoing contribution of the French language and Francophone cultures in Fernie.
The event highlighted the important role that Francophones play in enriching the social, cultural, and linguistic fabric of our community.
