Budget 2026 Conversations

Our 2026 budget process is well underway, building on work completed last fall to develop budget guidelines informed by early public input. Those guidelines are shaping the budget options now coming forward to Council.

On February 20, Council will receive presentations on the proposed operating budget and capital budgets. This will be followed by a series of meetings to drill down into the details and provide further direction.

Come chat with us, at a series of informal budget pop-up events:

  • February 24 – Save‑On‑Foods, 2:00–4:00 p.m.
  • February 25 – Fernie Aquatic Centre, 4:00–6:00 p.m.
  • February 26 – Fernie Heritage Library, 3:00–5:00 p.m.
  • February 27 – Fernie Memorial Arena (Fernie Ghostriders Pre-Game), 6:00–7:00 p.m.
