Annual Wastewater Main Flushing Underway

The City has started flushing wastewater mains in the Ridgemont neighbourhood as part of our annual maintenance program. The program rotates through each City neighbourhood, on a five-year cycle, to prevent accidental blockages and damage to wastewater lines.
As clean water is pushed through, and the lines are cleared, you may notice noise coming from your sewer pipes. If you notice any odours, you can run your taps to refill your plumbing traps. It is also recommended to keep your toilet lids down during this time as entrapped air may escape through high spots in the lines.
You can expect temporary road blockages as work is in progress on your block.
