Utility Connections Scheduled for 692 3rd Ave. Redevelopment Project
September 2, 2025
The 692 3rd Ave. Redevelopment site is scheduled to receive water service connections and a new fire hydrant. This utility work will occur overnight, beginning the evening of September 2, and ending at 5:00 am on September 3.
To facilitate the infrastructure upgrades, a temporary water service interruption is required, impacting certain properties in Maintown. Following the shutdown, a precautionary Water Quality Advisory will be in effect until water testing is complete.
All impacted properties have been notified.
During a Water Quality Advisory, it is recommended that children, the elderly, people with a weakened immune system, and anyone seeking additional protection drink boiled water or a safe alternative until the Water Quality Advisory is rescinded.
Once the advisory is lifted, the City of Fernie and Interior Health recommend running cold water from all faucets for at least five minutes to flush your plumbing before resuming normal use.
If you have questions about this project please contact the contractor, North Mountain Construction, by calling 250-581-1010.
