Residents Encouraged to Reduce Water Usage

The City of Fernie is asking all residents to reduce their water usage.

Recent rainfalls have increased turbidity levels of the Fairy Creek source, with Fernie’s water supply currently running from James White Wells.

This week’s hot weather has created an increased demand for water, with James White Wells now nearing capacity.

If the demand passes James White Well’s capacity the City will need to switch back to the Fairy Creek water source in its turbid state.

The City of Fernie is limiting water use by temporarily switching off irrigation and encourages residents to limit watering lawns throughout town.

Thank you for your conservation efforts.
