Public Notice - Development Variance Permit No. 513

Pursuant to Section 499 of the Local Government Act, public notice is hereby given that Council for the City of Fernie will consider the issuance of Development Variance Permit No. DVP-513 at a Regular Meeting of Council on TUESDAY, MAY 24, 2022, at 7:00 PM in Council Chambers at FERNIE CITY HALL located at 501 – 3rd Avenue, Fernie, BC.
Regular Council meetings are available for all members of the public to attend electronically via a Zoom webinar link posted to the City of Fernie website prior to each meeting. Council Meetings can also be viewed via a Facebook live stream from the City of Fernie Facebook page. If a member of the public is not able to attend electronically, a specified place is open to attend, watch, and hear Council proceedings.
Location: 190 Whitetail Drive
Legal Description: Lot 1, District Lot 4589, Kootenay District, Plan EPP17633
Purpose: To allow the applicant to construct a multi-family development consisting of 156 dwelling units located on the subject lot by varying Zoning Bylaw No. 1750 as follows:
- Vary Section 126.96.36.199: Schedule C with proposed alternatives to building location and massing (See proposed siting plan on the back of this notice;
- Vary Section 188.8.131.52: Parking From: 264 Stalls To: 219 Stalls;
- Vary Section 184.108.40.206: Building Height (Buildings C, D and F) From: 17.0 metres To: 17.5 metres.

Written submissions must be received no later than 2:00 PM MAY 24, 2022 in order to ensure their availability to Council at the meeting. All written submissions must include your name and street address and are public information pursuant to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Please note that written submissions will form part of the public record and will be published in the meeting agenda.
