Notice of Public Hearing - Bylaw No. 2453 & 2455

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing has been scheduled for MONDAY, February 14, 2022 at 7:00 PM at FERNIE CITY HALL located at 501 – 3rd Avenue, Fernie, BC so that Council may hear representations from persons who believe their interest in property is affected by a proposed amendment to Zoning Bylaw No. 1750.  

To comply with physical distancing requirements, Council meetings are held by electronic means as authorized by Ministerial Order No. M192.  In-person meeting attendance is unavailable for the public at this time and the public is encouraged to view meetings via the livestream webinar or archived recordings.  

Location: Zone Wide Amendment: CS1 – Service Commercial Zone

Bylaws: Bylaw 2453, cited as Zoning Bylaw No. 1750, Amendment Bylaw No. 253, Bylaw No. 2453, 2021, and,

Bylaw 2455, cited as Zoning Bylaw No. 1750, Amendment Bylaw No. 255, Bylaw No. 2455, 2022.

Purpose: Bylaw 2453:To text amend the CS1 - Service Commercial Zone to allow for dwelling units above the street level storey and behind the front of buildings as a permitted use throughout the CS1 Zone.

Bylaw 2455: To text amend the CS1 – Service Commercial Zone to allow gymnasiums as a permitted use throughout the CS1 Zone.
