Public Notice - Development Variance Permit No. 496

Pursuant to Section 499 of the Local Government Act, public notice is hereby given that Council for the City of Fernie will consider the issuance of Development Variance Permit No. DVP-496 at a Regular Meeting of Council on MONDAY, AUGUST 9, 2021, at 7:00 PM in Council Chambers at FERNIE CITY HALL located at 501 – 3 rd Avenue, Fernie, BC.

To comply with physical distancing requirements, Council meetings are held by electronic means as authorized by Ministerial Order No. M192. In-person meeting attendance is unavailable at this time and the public is encouraged to view meetings via the livestream webinar or archived recordings.

LOCATION: 501 – 1 st Avenue
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Lot 1and Lot 2, Block 13, District Lot 4588, Kootenay District, Plan 734
PURPOSE: The purpose of Development Variance Permit No. DVP-496 is to allow the applicant to undergo an extensive renovation, including a roof-top addition as well as an attached stairwell / elevator tower on the building known as the Royal Hotel situated on the Subject Lot by varying Zoning Bylaw No. 1750 as follows: i. Section 4.2.11.4: Minimum Rear-Yard Setback (West Property Line) From: 3.5 metres To: 0 metres.
