Public Notice - Development Variance Permit No. 494

Pursuant to Section 499 of the Local Government Act, public notice is hereby given that Council for the City of Fernie will consider the issuance of Development Variance Permit No. DVP-494 at a Regular Meeting of Council on MONDAY, AUGUST 23, 2021, at 7:00 PM in Council Chambers at FERNIE CITY HALL located at 501 – 3 rd Avenue, Fernie, BC.

To comply with physical distancing requirements, Council meetings are held by electronic means as authorized by Ministerial Order No. M192. In-person meeting attendance is unavailable at this time and the public is encouraged to view meetings via the livestream webinar or archived recordings. 

LOCATION: 2021 – Highway No. 3

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Lot 2, District Lot 5813, Kootenay District, Plan NEP22056

PURPOSE: The applicant wishes to legalize a non-conforming sign that is currently located on the façade of their building, the Fernie Fox Hotel, by varying the City of Fernie Consolidated Sign Bylaw No. 1888 as follows: Section 9.2.1(b): Maximum Sign Area, Highway Commercial Zone, from 4.0m2 to 10.59m2
