Snow and Ice Management- Pilot Project

The City of Fernie is launching a pilot project to test proposed changes to the way we manage snow and ice. A review of the City’s current snow and ice management practices determined that the current methods are not sustainable.

The pilot project, and coinciding community engagement, will be used to assist the development of a new Snow and Ice Control Policy for the 2020/2021 winter season.

The operational pilot will run from February 18-April 15. During this time, the public can expect to see a shift in the way some aspects of this service are provided.
