Notice of Waived Public Hearing

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the City of Fernie pursuant to Section 464 (2) of the Local Government Act has waived the holding of a Public Hearing in relation to proposed Bylaw 2398, an amendment to Zoning Bylaw 1750. Bylaw 2398 is consistent with the City of Fernie Official Community Plan Bylaw 2231. The Local Government Act allows for the waiving of public hearings in relation to zoning bylaws that are consistent with a municipality’s Official Community Plan.
Bylaw 2398 rezones the subject lands at 541 - 10th Avenue from R1 Single Family Residential to R1B Single Detached Plus Residential to permit future development of a secondary detached dwelling unit.
Council will consider Third Reading of Bylaw 2398 at a regular Council meeting scheduled for MONDAY, MAY 11, 2020 at 7:00 PM at City Hall, 501 – 3rd Avenue, Fernie, BC. In response to the COVID-19 public health emergency, as authorized by Provincial Ministerial Order No. M083, members of the public are no longer allowed to attend a meeting of Council during the Provincial State of Emergency. This action is taken in order to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 while enabling Council to continue to conduct business. Council meetings will continue to be streamed live on our website.
