Notice of Temporary Use Permits

Notice is hereby given that Council for the City of Fernie will consider the issuance of Temporary Use Permit No. TUP-004 and Temporary Use Permit No. TUP-005 at a Special Meeting of Council on THURSDAY, July 9, 2020 at 10:00 AM in Council Chambers, City Hall, 501-3rd Avenue, Fernie BC.  

To comply with physical distancing requirements, in accordance with Provincial Health Orders, the meeting is closed to in-person attendance and will be held by electronic means as authorized by Ministerial Order No. M192, “Local Government Meetings and Bylaw Process (COVID-19)”. All persons wishing to provide comments about the proposed Temporary Use Permit may provide written comments by:

Written submissions must be received no later than 4:00 PM July 8, 2020 in order to ensure their availability to Council at the meeting.  All correspondence submitted will form part of the public record and may be published in the meeting agenda.

Temporary Use Permit No.TUP-004

LOCATION: Vacant Lots next to Salvation Army (771 – 2nd Avenue)

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Lots 8 and 9, Block 22, District Lot 4588, Kootenay District, Plan 734

PURPOSE: This Temporary Use Permit is to allow for the Salvation Army to temporarily use a shipping container (Sea Can) on their parking lot to store donated goods prior to them being brought into the thrift shop for resale.

Temporary Use Permit No.TUP-005

LOCATION: 2021 Highway No. 3 (Fernie Fox Hotel)

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Lot 2, District Lot 5813, Kootenay District, Plan NEP22056

PURPOSE: This Temporary Use Permit is to allow for the placement of a food truck operated by Lunchbox in the parking lot of the Fernie Fox Hotel.
