Notice of Development Variance Permit - Public Input

Pursuant to Section 499 of the Local Government Act, public notice is hereby given that Council for the City of Fernie will consider Development Variance Permit No. 462 (592 – 8th Avenue) and Development Variance Permit (1542 - 11th Avenue) at the Regular meeting MONDAY, MAY 11, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, 501-3rd Avenue, Fernie BC.

Pursuant to Ministerial Order No. M083 issued by the Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General, and in compliance with social-distancing orders, Council meetings will not be open to public attendance during the COVID-19 public health emergency but will be available by video livestream and archived on our website at https://www.fernie.ca/EN/main/city/meeting-agendas-minutes/council-meeting-videos.html

Development Variance Permit No. DVP-462 (592-8th Avenue) proposes to vary the required number of off-street parking spaces and off-street loading stalls as set out in Part 5 of Zoning Bylaw No. 1750.

Development Variance Permit No. DVP-464 (1542-11th Avenue) proposes to vary the minimum front yard setback, steps projection, eave projection and open porch projection as set out in Zoning Bylaw No. 1750 for proposed construction of a mudroom with stairs and open porch off the front of the existing single family dwelling.

Written submissions must be received no later than 4:00pm on Monday, May 11, 2020 in order to ensure their availability to Council at the meeting.  All submissions are public information pursuant to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, and must include your name and street address, will form part of the public record and will be published in the meeting agenda.  For enquiries concerning the above permits please contact the Planning Department at cityhall@fernie.ca or contact the Planner at 250-423-6817 during regular business hours Monday to Friday.
