Update: Road Closure Notice
February 7, 2020
Update: The portion of Burma Road that was closed to public traffic has been reopened. The road boulevard has been regraded and the road is now safe for public use.
December 24, 2019: the City of Fernie has closed a portion of Burma Road (located at the end of the residential area) due to a disturbance of some areas of the banks and heavy rains washing topsoil onto the roadway.
At this time the City does not have an anticipated timeline and the road will remain closed until further notice. Only emergency vehicle access is permitted.
Thank you for your cooperation in avoiding this area and respecting the posted “Road Closed” signage.
