Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing has been scheduled for MONDAY, AUGUST 12, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. in Council Chambers at Fernie City Hall, located at 501 – 3rd Avenue, Fernie BC so that Council may hear representations from persons who believe their interest in property is affected by a proposed amendment to Zoning Bylaw No. 1750.

Location: 1102 – 3rd Avenue
Bylaw: Zoning Bylaw No. 1750 Amendment Bylaw No. 213, Bylaw No. 2380, 2019
Purpose: The applicant wishes to rezone their property (1102 – 3rd Avenue) from R1 – Single Family Residential → to R1SL – Single Family Residential Small Lot. This would give the applicant the ability to apply for a subdivision into two small lots.

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing has been scheduled for MONDAY, AUGUST 12, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. in Council Chambers at Fernie City Hall, located at 501 – 3rd Avenue, Fernie BC so that Council may hear representations from persons who believe their interest in property is affected by a proposed amendment to Zoning Bylaw No. 1750.

Location: City-wide (All RR - Rural Residential Zoned Areas)
Bylaw: Zoning Bylaw No. 1750 Amendment Bylaw No. 214, Bylaw No. 2381, 2019
Purpose: The purpose of Bylaw No. 2381 is to amend the Zoning Bylaw to:

  • Allow for the inclusion of secondary dwelling units in the RR – Rural Residential Zone;
  • Limit the height of all accessory buildings, including secondary dwelling units that are detached from the principal dwelling unit to a maximum of 7.5 metres;
  • Limit the maximum size of a secondary dwelling unit in the RR-zone to 2 bedrooms; and
  • Update the density of RR-zoned parcels from 1 principal dwelling unit to 1 principal dwelling unit and 1 secondary dwelling unit.

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing has been scheduled for Monday, August 12, 2019  7:00 P.M. in Council Chambers at Fernie City Hall, located at 501 – 3rd Avenue, Fernie BC so that Council may hear representations from persons who believe their interest in property is affected by a proposed amendment to Zoning Bylaw No. 1750.

Location: 1141 - 9th Avenue 
Bylaw: Zoning Bylaw No. 1750, Amendment Bylaw No. 215, Bylaw No. 2382, 2019
Purpose: The applicant is requesting that the subject Lot 3 be rezoned from R1 to R1B in order to allow for the future development of a new secondary detached dwelling unit on the subject Lot 3.
