Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers at Fernie City Hall located at 501 – 3rd Avenue, Fernie BC so that Council may hear representations from persons who believe their interest in property is affected by theproposed amendments to Zoning Bylaw No. 1750.

PURPOSE: The purpose of Bylaw No. 2387 is to amend Zoning Bylaw No. 1750 to regulate the use of shipping containers within the City of Fernie.  The bylaw amendment permits the use of shipping containers in the M1 Light Industrial Zone and CS-1 Service Commercial Zone and prohibits the use in all other Zones except for temporary use under certain specific conditions.  The bylaw also regulates shipping containers used as a component of a building, portion of a building, or modified and certified pursuant to CSA A277 Procedure for certification of prefabricated buildings.

Temporary Use Permit TUP-003   This Temporary Use Permit, if approved, would allow for the manufacture and bottling of Kombucha (the "temporary use").

Pursuant to Section 494 of the Local Government Act, public notice is hereby given that Council for the City of Fernie will consider the issuance of Temporary Use Permit No. TUP-003 at the regular meeting to be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers, City Hall, 501-3rd Avenue, Fernie BC.

PURPOSE:  In general terms the purpose of the Temporary Use Permit is to allow use of the subject property at Unit ‘C’, 1501 – 10th Avenue in the CS-1 Service Commercial Zone for operation of a Food Manufacturing Facility for a period of 2 years. If granted, the temporary use permit will allow the applicant to apply for a business license to operate the food manufacturing facility at Unit “C” 1501 – 10th Avenue.
