Canada Day Celebration

The City of Fernie invites the community to join us for a celebration of Canada’s birthday on July 1 from 12pm-9pm at the Fernie Aquatic Centre Grounds. The event will include a full lineup of live music, children’s activities, the Mountain Market, free swimming at the pool from 1pm-3pm, and much more.
Due to the recurring high seasonal fire risk, the City of Fernie has decided not to include a fireworks display at the 2019 Canada Day festivities. While we know the fireworks display has become an anticipated part of the annual celebration, community safety is our top priority.
The City of Fernie will continue to support fireworks as part of other community events, such as Griz Days, that occur during times of the year where the fire risk is much lower.
