City Appoints Chief Election Officer

The City of Fernie is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Allen as Chief Election Officer (CEO) for the upcoming municipal election. This marks his fourth election cycle in this role, reflecting his extensive experience as a Returning Officer. Kevin has previously served as CEO for the 2014, 2018, and 2022 municipal elections, bringing invaluable skills and expertise to the position.
Mr. Allen takes the role effective July 6, 2026, and will have an office within City Hall to support the election commencing August 3, 2026.
In addition to this appointment, City Council has designated Corporate Officer Lavinia McElwee, Deputy Corporate Officer Tricia Fichter, and Chief Administrative Officer Michael Boronowski, to serve as Deputy Chief Election Officers.
