Permit Tracking Software Launch

The City’s new permit tracking software is now live.
Starting June 4, 2025, the City of Fernie has begun accepting the submission of building permit applications via Cloudpermit. The new software allows builders, developers, businesses, and residents to apply for building permits at any time of day, from any location with an internet connection.
Highlights:
• Complete the building permit process online from a computer or mobile device.
• Check the status of your permit online and receive email updates on the progress.
• Save your work and finish it later.
• Communicate with the review team through a central location.
Good to Know:
The City will accept paper and email applications until June 20, 2025. However, applications submitted through Cloudpermit by applicants will be processed faster. Paper and email applications take longer to be organized, digitized, and reviewed for completeness by City staff during business hours before being uploaded to Cloudpermit. Applications currently in the queue to be reviewed are being added to Cloudpermit during the coming weeks. Once your application is in the system, you’ll receive an email asking you to register for a Cloudpermit account.
To book inspections, log into Cloudpermit and send an inspection request. For building permits that were issued before Cloudpermit’s launch, contact the Building Officials and we’ll get you set up online.
