Notice of Development Variance Permit No. DVP-616

Pursuant to Section 499 of the Local Government Act, public notice is hereby given that Council for the City of Fernie will consider the issuance of Development Variance Permit No. DVP-616 at a Regular Meeting of Council on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, at 6:30 PM at the Senior Citizens Drop In Centre located at 562 – 3 rd Avenue, Fernie, BC. Council meetings are available for all members of the public to attend or watch electronically via a Zoom webinar link posted to the City of Fernie website prior to each meeting. LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Lot 6 Block 95 District Lot 4588 Kootenay District Plan 902
PURPOSE: The proposed variance will allow the applicant to build a covered entrance with deck above on the subject lot by varying Zoning Bylaw No. 1750 as follows:
i. Vary Section 4.2.1.4 Maximum Parcel Coverage – one dwelling unit From: 35% To: 45.59%
ii. Vary Section 3.7.4 (d) Sundeck projection From: 1.3m To: 1.78m
INSPECTION OF DOCUMENTS: A copy of the proposed development variance permit and other relevant documents may be viewed on our “Latest News” page on the City website at www.fernie.ca and in person at City Hall, located at 501 – 3 rd Avenue, during the hours of 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays.
PROVIDE YOUR COMMENTS: Public participation will be accepted through written submission and must be submitted before 2:00 PM the day of the Council Meeting where the DVP will be considered by any of the following formats:
