Notice of Business Licensing and Regulation Bylaw Amendment

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 6:30 PM at the Fernie Senior Citizens Drop-In Centre, 562 – 3rd Avenue, Fernie, BC, V0B 1M0, Council will be considering adoption of Bylaw No. 2539, to amend the Business License Fees that are set out in the City of Fernie Business Licensing and Regulation Bylaw No. 2028. Pursuant to Section 59(2)(b) of the Community Charter, any persons who consider they are affected by the bylaw are invited to make representations to Council through written submissions outlined below.

LOCATION: City-Wide

BYLAW: Business Licensing and Regulation Bylaw No. 2028, Amendment Bylaw No. 2539, 2025 (Bylaw No. 2539)

PURPOSE: To amend the Business Licensing and Regulation Bylaw No. 2028, changing the regular business license fees from $100 to $150.

INSPECTION OF DOCUMENTS

A copy of the proposed bylaw may be viewed at City Hall, and on our “Latest News” page on the City website at www.fernie.ca.

PROVIDE YOUR WRITTEN SUBMISSIONS:

This Notice is published in accordance with Sections 59(2)(a) and 59(3) of the Community Charter.

Any persons who consider they are affected by Bylaw No. 2539 are invited to make representations to Council through written submissions that can be submitted to City Hall following the directions set out below. The November 25, 2025 meeting will be available for viewing via the City’s YouTube page and Zoom link on the day.In-person meeting attendance is welcome.
