Fernie on Fire is back! Wondering what to do with your Christmas tree? Fernie Fire Rescue will once again be hosting the popular fundraiser and tree burning event on Saturday, January 3.
Starting at 5:30pm, you can bring your tree to the Fernie Aquatic Centre grounds and add it to the community bonfire!
For those who are unable to bring their tree to the event, Fernie Fire Rescue will be picking up trees in a few central neighbourhoods. Residents of Maintown, the Annex, the Airport, and Ridgemont can place their tree at the curb for collection after 8am on January 3. If they aren’t scheduled to hit your neighbourhood, or you want to get rid of your tree sooner, you can drop your tree off on the trailer outside the Temporary Fire Hall on Railway Avenue between December 27 and January 2.
There will be music, great raffle prizes, a BBQ, and beverages. All proceeds go to local charities.
