Fall Programming and Wristbands at the Pool

The Fernie Aquatic Centre will reopen on Tuesday, September 9, and we are hitting the ground running with a new wristband system and Hush Swims.

New Wristband System

To increase pool users' safety, the Aquatic Centre is implementing wristbands. Starting September 9, all patrons will be issued a wristband each time they use the facility. These wristbands are a quick visual cue to identify swimmers who require direct adult supervision and will also enable staff to distinguish public swimmers from participants in registered programs.

Hush Swim

The first Hush Swim is scheduled for Sunday, September 14 from 10am-11am. Hush swims are an opportunity to enjoy the water with less sensory distractions - perfect for families and individuals who want or need a quieter atmosphere. Drop-in Sundays from 10 am-11am.

September Aquatic Events

The Aquatic Centre also has two events planned for this month: All Bodies Swim, co-hosted by Fernie Pride, and Good-bye Summer! Check our events page for more details.

Please note: the Aquatic Centre will be closed to the public on September 4 and 5 to facilitate network upgrades. During this time the phone and internet systems will also be disconnected.

For any recreation inquiries please email recreation@fernie.ca and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
