2026 Discretionary Grant Program

The City of Fernie is accepting applications for the 2026 Discretionary Grant program!
The City of Fernie recognizes the value of contributions provided through the volunteer efforts of community organizations and agencies on behalf of the citizens. Each year, City Council allocates funds to support the community through the distribution of discretionary grants. Eligible local community groups or organizations that can demonstrate financial need and a positive impact on the community are encouraged to apply.
New for 2026, the Discretionary Grant policy is being updated to allow for more frequent application intakes and more flexible additional funding requirements. This will result in an additional intake in the spring of 2026 and organizations will be eligible to receive funding in more than 2 of 5 years.
In 2026, $14,400 funding is available. Applications for the fall intake are due Sunday, November 30.
