Fernie on Fire

Wondering what to do with that Christmas Tree?  Fernie on Fire, the popular community bonfire and Christmas tree burning event is returning on January 7 after a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fernie Fire Rescue will be hosting the fundraiser and tree burning event starting at 5:30pm on January 7 on the Aquatics Centre Grounds by the Outdoor Community Rink.

You can bring your tree to the huge bonfire on the day of the event, and stay to enjoy hot chocolate, hot dogs and adult beverages.

Fernie Fire Rescue will also once again be picking trees up curbside January 7 in select neighbourhoods:  Maintown, the Annex, the Airport and Ridgemont starting at 8am. Please don't leave your tree on the curb before the pick-up date.  If our volunteers aren’t scheduled to hit your neighbourhood, or you want to get rid of your tree sooner, you can drop your tree off on the trailer outside the Temporary Fire Hall on Railway Avenue between January 2 and January 6. Watch for signage directing you to the designated drop off spot.
