The Nomination Period for the 2022 Local General Election is Now Open

The Nomination Period for the 2022 General Local Election is now open.
Council candidates can submit their nomination to the Chief Election Officer at City Hall. Nomination packages are available for pick up at City Hall or can be downloaded here.
It is recommended that candidates book a meeting with the Chief Election officer to review their nomination package. You can do so by emailing electionsofficer@fernie.ca or calling 250-423-2234.
Don’t forget to attend the Candidate Information Night on September 7th at 6:30 pm at the Fernie Senior Citizens Drop-In Centre. Attendees will learn what it is like to be on Council, how to submit nomination papers and much more. The Deputy Clerk and Chief Election Officer will be on site to answer questions and share information about Council responsibilities and the election process.
