Campfire Ban Lifted
September 1, 2022
Effective at 1pm MDT on Friday September 2, 2022, the City of Fernie will lift the campfire ban currently in effect. As of 1:00 p.m. Friday September 2, 2022 all fire pit permits issued in the City of Fernie are reinstated.
Please note the following equipment and activities remain prohibited throughout the Southeast Fire Centre including the City of Fernie:
- Category 2 and Category 3 open fires, as defined in the Wildfire Regulation
- the use of sky lanterns
- the use of fireworks
- the use of air curtain burners
- the use of burn barrels and burn cages
- the use of binary exploding targets

To report a wildfire, call 1 800 663-5555 toll-free or *5555 on a cellphone. Wildfires may also be reported through the free BC Wildfire Service public mobile app.
