Public Notice - Development Variance Permit No. 495

Pursuant to Section 499 of the Local Government Act, public notice is hereby given that Council for the City of Fernie will consider the issuance of Development Variance Permit No. DVP-495 at a Regular Meeting of Council on MONDAY, JUNE 28, 2021, at 7:00 PM.
To comply with physical distancing requirements, Council meetings are held by electronic means as authorized by Ministerial Order No. M192. In-person meeting attendance is unavailable at this time and the public is encouraged to view meetings via the livestream webinar or archived recordings.
LOCATION: 521 – 6 th Avenue
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Lot 2, District Lot 4588, Kootenay District, Plan 734A
PURPOSE: The purpose of this Development Variance Permit Application No. DVPA-495, is to allow the applicant to build a detached secondary dwelling unit in the back yard of the subject lot by varying Zoning Bylaw No. 1750 as follows: i. Definition of “Dwelling Unit, Secondary” to allow the Secondary Detached Dwelling Unit to be larger than the principal dwelling unit on the subject lot. ii. Section 126.96.36.199: Rear Yard Setback, Secondary Detached Dwelling Unit (West Property Line) From: 6.0 metres To: 2.11 metres.
