NOTICE OF WAIVED PUBLIC HEARING - BYLAW NO. 2401 and BYLAW NO. 2402
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the City of Fernie pursuant to Section 464 (2) of the Local Government Act has waived the holding of a Public Hearing in relation to proposed Bylaws 2401, and 2402 amendments to Zoning Bylaw 1750. Bylaw 2401 and 2402 are consistent with the City of Fernie Official Community Plan Bylaw 2231. The Local Government Act allows for the waiving of public hearings in relation to zoning bylaws that are consistent with a municipality’s Official Community Plan.
Council will consider Third Readings of Bylaw 2401 and Bylaw 2402 at a regular Council meeting scheduled for MONDAY, JUNE 22, 2020 at 7:00 PM at City Hall, 501 – 3rd Avenue, Fernie, BC. Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency and under power of Ministerial Order No. M139, Council meetings are currently closed to the public and will be livestreamed on the City of Fernie Facebook page.

LOCATION: 1001 - 9th Avenue
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Lot 1, Block 87, District Lot 4588, Kootenay District, Plan 902
BYLAW: Zoning Bylaw No. 1750 Amendment Bylaw No. 225, Bylaw No. 2401, 2020
PURPOSE: The purpose of the proposed bylaw is to rezone the subject lands from R1 – Single Family Residential to R1B – Single Detached Plus Residential to permit future development of a new secondary detached dwelling unit.

BYLAW: Zoning Bylaw No. 1750 Amendment Bylaw No. 226, Bylaw No. 2402, 2020
PURPOSE: The purpose of the proposed bylaw is to rezone the subject lands from R1 – Single Family Residential to R1B – Single Detached Plus Residential to permit future development of a new secondary detached dwelling unit.
