Winter Safety Tips

The City of Fernie Public Works team would like to remind residents to stay clear of operating equipment. Approaching an operator who is in the process of snow clearing can provide a serious safety hazard.

Parents are also reminded to ensure children to stay off snow banks piled up along the side of the roads, or anywhere a snowplow is likely to operate.

Digging tunnels, building snow forts or slides on snow piles located in the public road right of way or parking lots can be dangerous. Parents should advise their children of this hazard.

If you have a question, or comment for one of our plow operators, please call City Hall 250-423-6817 or use our online Request for Service feature.
