Volunteers Needed for Awareness Campaign

Are you concerned about speeding and distracted driving in our community? We are looking for adult volunteers who are interested in committing their time to an awareness campaign.

The program, a partnership between the City of Fernie, the Fernie Detachment of the RCMP and the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) aims to reduce incidences of speeding and distracted driving by using reader boards to raise drivers’ awareness to their speed, as well as monitor those motorists who are displaying distracted driving behavior.

Volunteer shifts are two hours long and are flexible to suit your schedule.

If you are interested in volunteering, and can commit to two or three shifts over the summer, please contact elkvalleyrcmp@rcmp-grc.gc.ca or call 250 423.4404 to register for a 1.5 hour training session on June 29, 2017 at 1:30pm at the Elk Valley Dispatch office in Fernie.
