Update: Notice of Herbicide Application

Update: The City of Fernie has postponed any application of herbicides.
As per Bylaw 2093, signage will be placed on the facility grounds 48 hours in advance of any spraying and written notice will be provided to adjacent home owners. After any herbicide application signage will remain in place for 72 hours.
As part of a maintenance procedure herbicide is applied to certain facility grounds to protect and improve the following turf areas for future enjoyment:
• Max Turyk Community Centre
• City Hall Courthouse
• Fernie Aquatic Centre
• Fernie Memorial Arena & Community Centre
• James White Park (excluding Tennis Court area)
Please stay off the turf areas when you see signage in place.
The herbicide is Trillion-P (PCP#27972), the active ingredients are Dicamba, Mecoprop and 2, 4-D.
