Community Profile
and Business Guide

The City of Fernie is pleased to announce the release of its Community Profile and Business Guide.

The Profile is intended to be primarily a business attraction and retention tool and contains standard International Economic Development Council site selection data as well as a richer variety of information, including historical, social, recreational and cultural information to more fully represent the community.

The Business Guide section of the Profile introduces the reader to the land use application process such as OCP and Zoning Bylaw amendment applications, development and development variance permits, subdivision and development servicing and building permits, sign permits and business licensing. The intention is to provide a reasonably comprehensive synopsis of what is involved in property development and opening and operating a business in Fernie.

The Opportunities section of the Profile positions Fernie as a place where lifestyle, community and business meet and is designed to make the reader want to explore the opportunities in Fernie more.

Copies of the Profile are available at City Hall and the Chamber of Commerce’s Highway 3 Visitor and Business Information Centre.
