Public notice is hereby given that Council for the City of Fernie will consider Development Variance Permit No. 442 at the regular meeting to be held on Monday, May 27, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, City Hall, 501-3rd Avenue, Fernie BC.

Location: 1421-9th Avenue
Purpose: To allow for the construction of a west-facing (rear-yard) deck, and stairs attached to the existing east-facing (front-yard) deck, the applicant has requested a variance to the City of Fernie Zoning Bylaw as follows: 

  • Section 3.7.4(a): Step Projection from: 1.2 metres into the required front-yard setback a to: 1.85 metres into the required front-yard setback
  • Section 4.2.8. Parcel Coverage from: 40.0% a to: 48.7%

All persons will be given an opportunity to be heard and to present written submissions on this matter.   A copy of the City of Fernie Zoning Bylaw No. 1750, Development Variance Permit and other relevant documents may be viewed at City Hall, 501 – 3rd Avenue, Fernie, BC during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from May 16, 2019 to May 27, 2019 (excluding weekends and statutory holidays), or online at www.fernie.ca
