UPDATE: Localized Flooding
May 28, 2018
The BC River Forecast Centre has ended the High Streamflow Advisory for the Fernie region (East Kootenay) as of May 28, 2018.
Snow melt runoff has been decreasing and river levels have been declining over the last day. Cooler conditions are expected this week, and river levels are expected to continue receding.
City crews will continue to monitor river and creek levels and we will update you if conditions change. Please be reminded to be cautious around river banks as fast-moving water is still present.
